West Palm Beach Fire Department to Distribute 26,000 Face Masks to Schools in the City

WHO:                   West Palm Beach Department of Emergency Management

                                Students of elementary, middle and high schools within West Palm Beach City limits

 

WHAT:                 The City of West Palm Beach Department of Emergency Management will transport and distribute approximately 26,000 cloth face masks to 17 elementary, middle and high schools located within West Palm Beach city limits. The City’s effort aims to ensure students in the City have access to facial coverings when in-person schooling resumes. The CDC advises wearing cloth masks or facial coverings to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. The masks that are to be distributed were donated by Palm Beach County. The wearing of facial coverings in public places is mandated by Palm Beach County.

 

WHERE:               WPBFD Distribution Center

1306 Allendale Rd.

 

WHEN:                 Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 8:30 a.m.

 

VISUALS:             B-roll opportunities will include WPBFD loading boxes of masks onto trucks for distribution and the departure of trucks as they head to schools. WPBFD Asst. Chief Brent Bloomfield will be available for interviews about the distribution effort.

 

AND:                     Event is open to credentialed media. Masks will NOT be individually distributed to the public at the media event.
