Styx Promenade - Historic Northwest

PROJECT DETAILS

The Styx Project, located along 7th Street between Rosemary Avenue and Sapodilla Avenue in the Historic Northwest District, is a CRA redevelopment project that includes the construction of 9 new structures in the Shotgun style and the restoration of an original Shotgun home, as once seen throughout the area.  The architecturally award-winning development by Alfonso Hernandez started in 2018 and construction is now completed.

After a competitive process in 2022, 6 of the structures were successfully awarded to 3 different local business owners. Those 3 businesses are Camile’s Flowers & Gifts, Eat’n Cakes, and A Better Way Home Care. A Better Way Home Care is now open and the other two are under tenant improvements.

The CRA received proposals for the remaining properties from September 15th until December 14th. 12 proposals were submitted and were reviewed by the technical committee on January 8th to select the final 4 to be considered by the CRA Board.

On February 20th, the CRA Board awarded two businesses for the remaining two lots. Rohi's Readery was chosen for the double structure on Lot 8, and Serene Beauty Suite was chosen for the single structure on Lot 9. The two businesses are currently in due diligence process for a purchase and sales agreement.

The CRA hopes to have final buildouts completed and a grand opening for the Styx Promenade by the end of 2024.

IMPORTANT: Contact by a proposer (or anyone representing a proposer) regarding these properties or the conveyance of these properties with the Mayor, any City Commissioner, any CRA Board Member, or any City employee other than an employee of the West Palm Beach Community Redevelopment Agency, will be grounds for disqualification from consideration of the violator’s proposal.  This restriction will remain in effect until the CRA executes both purchase and sale agreements.

The CRA reserves the right to reject all proposals, to re-notice the property, or to retain the property for the CRA's future use, and to take any other action deemed to be in the best interest of the CRA and the City of West Palm Beach as provided by statute.  No proposal shall be considered accepted until a written contract is executed by the proposer and the CRA.
