Outreach and Engagement Activities

The City of West Palm Beach is actively involved in addressing the needs of the homeless population through extensive outreach and engagement initiatives. The City's departments work in coordination with local organizations, such as St. Ann Place and the Healthcare District, to ensure comprehensive support. Here are some of the impactful outreach and engagement activities carried out by these entities:

Healthcare District of Palm Beach County: In addition to offering chronic disease management, the Healthcare District also provides essential mental health and substance abuse services. As part of our collaborative efforts, a recovery coach from the Healthcare District actively participates in outreach activities. Moreover, they are stationed at St. Ann Place throughout the week, facilitating easy access to mental health support and drug treatment services.

St. Ann Place: Plays a crucial role in supporting the homeless population by providing a range of services. These services include shower and laundry facilities, hygiene products, nutritious meals, and mail services. Additionally, they assist individuals with food stamp and disability applications. Notably, the Healthcare District has established a clinic within the St. Ann Place building, further strengthening the support available to those in need. To demonstrate our commitment, the City's Community Services Division is stationed at St. Ann Place four times per week, reinforcing our partnership and dedication to providing comprehensive assistance.

Through collaboration with these partner organizations and the expertise of various city departments—including HCD/Community Services Division, Police, Parks and Recreation, and the Library Department—the City of West Palm Beach aims to offer critical services and resources to the homeless population. Our outreach and engagement activities encompass healthcare provisions, addressing basic needs, and facilitating community referrals. By focusing on these areas, our goal is to enhance the well-being and outcomes for individuals experiencing homelessness within our city.

We remain steadfast in our commitment to addressing homelessness and fostering a caring and supportive community for all residents of West Palm Beach.
