Your Utility Department Services: Safety & Convenience

Utility service, billing and payment options are available by phone and online to help customers by reducing the need to visit City Hall.

Access to utility accounts, requests for services, billing, and payment activities are available online or by calling our customer service department. For your safety and convenience, payments or requests for CWPB Utility Department services are available without the requirement to visit City Hall.  Services billed monthly to active accounts include:

• Water Usage & Service Charge
• Wastewater Usage & Service Charge
• Sanitation Services & Recycling
• Stormwater Management
• Applicable Utility Tax

The following services are available from the safety and convenience of your phone or computer:

• Online Payments

  Online payments are quick and easy.  You will first need to create an online profile and log in at Paying Your Bill. Create an online profile and pay your bill. Instructions are provided in English and Spanish.

• Pay by Phone

  You can pay your utility bill over the telephone call calling a Customer Service Representative at (561) 822-1300. You will be required to have your utility account number.

• Pay by Mail

The City of West Palm Beach Department of Public Utilities reminds all customers nothing should be flushed down the toilet or any other kind of wastewater system but toilet paper and liquids.

Flushable wipes don’t dissolve in water, cause clogs and damage wastewater systems costing taxpayers thousands of dollars. Recently, because of the Coronavirus and sheltering, people are more likely to be at home, and more likely to purchase and use toilet paper and flushable wipes. 

Many of the wipes pulled out of sewers are advertised as flushable. They don’t break down and cause stress to the wastewater system including blockage and spills”.

According to the EPA, wipes for disposal are considered solid waste and should not be flushed into a wastewater system. 

The following products should never be flushed down the toilet:

2. Baby Wipes
3. Facial Wipes
4. Flushable Nappies
5. Toilet Roll Tubes
6. Sanitary products
7. Cleansing Pads, Cotton Puffs or Buds
8. Cleansing Pads
9. Medicines
10. Cigarette butts
11. Dental Floss
12. Bandages

The City of West Palm Beach maintains a series of over 500 miles of underground sanitary sewer pipes that carry wastewater from homes and businesses to the East Central Regional Water Reclamation Facility (ECRWRF).  The Sanitary Collections division is responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on the collection systems to keep wastewater flowing.
