West Palm Beach City Commission Meeting and Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Approvals and Decisions
WEST PALM BEACH, FL (August 6, 2024) – Below is a summary of the approvals and decisions made by the City Commission meeting on Monday, August 5, 2024.
MAYOR’S OFFICE – Mayor Keith A. James proclaimed August as Black Business Month in the City of West Palm Beach.

proclamation is Assistant City Administrator Armando Fana.
MAYOR'S OFFICE -- Approved a resolution approving the City's continued participation in Palm Beach County's Workforce Development Consortium; approved a resolution approving a non-exclusive services and license agreement, by and between, the City of West Palm Beach and IKE Smart City, LLC for the placement of wayfinding kiosks in the City's right-of-way; approved a resolution approving a Building Improvement Grant for Pathfinders Eureka LLC, through the Office of Economic Development in the amount of $100,000 to make improvements at 537 14th Street, West Palm Beach, Florida; approved an ordinance after a first reading and public hearing amending the code of ordinances at Chapter 94, Article XIII "Sign Regulations" to designate wayfinding signage or kiosks as an "unregulated sign".
PARKS and RECREATION – Approved a resolution accepting and appropriating funds in the amount of $5,500 from Prime Time of Palm Beach County funded by the Children Services Council in recognition of the after-school programs at Gaines Park and South Olive Park completing the Quality Improvement System (QIS) core quality practices.
POLICE DEPARTMENT – Approved a resolution amending the Fiscal Year 2023/2024 Miscellaneous Trust Fund Budget to authorize appropriations of $25,000 from the State Law Enforcement Forfeiture Receipts for use as investigative funds to further complex criminal investigations; approved two resolutions accepting a donation from The Fund for West Palm Beach Police in the amount of $15,000 for police academy tuition costs for newly hired police recruits; and a second resolution recognizing and appropriating a donation of $15,000 from The Fund for West Palm Beach Police in Fiscal Year 2023- 2024 for police academy tuition costs for newly hired police recruits.
PUBLIC WORKS – Approved a resolution authorizing fundraising activities and allowing for acceptance of in-kind services for the Keep West Palm Beach Beautiful City initiative.

Below is a summary of the approvals and decisions made by the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) meeting on Monday, August 5, 2024.
Approved a resolution approving an amendment to a real estate development accelerator incentive agreement for POTP, LLC for additional costs of $25,121.73.
Approved a resolution authorizing the transfer of funds in Fund 256 to pay for arbitrage rebate.
Approved a resolution approving a property improvement agreement for a grant under the Pleasant City Neighborhood Paint, Plant, and Pave program in the amount of $9,847 for improvements to the property at 2017 Happy Street.
Approved a resolution approving the purchase of property located at 5701 Broadway Boulevard, 1026 Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard, and 1000 Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard for an amount not to exceed $2,368,411.
Approved a resolution approving an agreement with Biederman Redevelopment Ventures for $450,000 to implement the Currie Park Placemaking Plan.
