Essential Hurricane Season Information from the City As we venture further into the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season, the City of West Palm Beach is reminding residents of the critical importance of readiness in the face of potential storms. While we remain hopeful for a calm season, it is imperative to be fully prepared for any eventuality. During the season, which ends on Nov. 30, 2024, tropical storms and hurricanes are anticipated to form in the Atlantic. Learn more here!

The West Palm Beach Fire Department is Recruiting Firefighters The City is looking for highly-motivated and dedicated individuals to join our Fire Department! We are seeking firefighters with a commitment to excellence and community service. Climate Smart Floridians

Save money and do your part to help save the planet! The City of West Palm Beach and the University of Florida IFAS Extension are teaming up to host the Climate Smart Floridians Program, providing residents with research-based information about local climate change.

Attend this FREE program and receive FREE conservation resources!

Available to City residents, businesses, and students. Registration is required. Limited class size. Attend one or all modules! Upon completion of all 8 modules, a special certificate will be awarded.

Plastic Free Challenge Giveaway & Free Film Screening

Plastic Free July® is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution – so we can have cleaner streets, waterways, beautiful communities, and healthier bodies. It's about learning to make small changes. The City of West Palm Beach Office of Sustainability is offering FREE customized Plastic Free Challenge Kits to City of West Palm Beach residents and a FREE film screening that is open to everyone! Registration is required. Plastic Free Challenge Kits are available to City of West Palm Beach residents and businesses. 

Saturday, July 27: Plastic Free Challenge Kit Pick-Up at the Palm Beach Zoo (9 a.m. – 11 a.m.)

Palm Beach County Community Highlight

Free Family Weekend Meal Kits at the Palm Beach County Library The Palm Beach County Library system, sponsored by the Palm Beach County Food Bank and Pan-Florida Challenge, is offering free family weekend meals at different branches. Each child is eligible for one free weekend meal kit every Friday while supplies last. For youth 18 and younger, visit the Main Library Branch and the Jupiter Branch. For youth 17 years and younger, visit the following branches: Belle Glade, Clarence E. Anthony, and Loula V. York. Learn more here.
