The City of West Palm Beach Urges Residents to Prepare for the
2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season
With the onset of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season drawing near, the City of West Palm Beach is reminding residents of the critical importance of readiness in the face of potential storms. While we remain hopeful for a calm season, it is imperative to be fully prepared for any eventuality. The season, spanning from June 1 to Nov. 30, 2024, is when tropical storms and hurricanes are anticipated to form in the Atlantic.

Please join the City of West Palm Beach and Community Redevelopment Agency on Thursday, May 2 at 6 p.m. for the quarterly Historic Northwest District community outreach meeting. The CRA will provide updates on projects while City Departments provide updates on top community concerns including safety, sanitation, and ways that you can report issues in your neighborhood with WPBKey. The meeting will be held at Heart & Soul Park located at 825 N. Rosemary Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33401. We hope to see you there!

Get Hurricane Ready: How To Trim Trees and Landscaping For Storm Season

That's why the City of West Palm Beach wants residents to take part in Vegetation Amnesty Days, where there's no additional charge to get rid of extra landscape trimmings. Learn more about the program, and more importantly learn how to properly trim your trees and bushes to keep them strong during a storm.

City Presents Award to GreenMarket Master Chef Showcase Winner
West Palm Beach Mayor Keith A. James presented an award to Sous Chef Manfred Schmidtke on behalf of Chef and owner of Palm Beach Catering, Joey Leuze, as the winner of the first-ever West Palm Beach GreenMarket Master Chef Showcase. The presentation happened during the City Commission Meeting on Monday, April 29, 2024.

The next City Commission meeting will be held on Monday, May 13 at 5 p.m. in City Hall, 401 Clematis Street. Commission meetings are held every other Monday, except for holidays, and the public is encouraged to attend.
