West Palm Beach City Commission and Community Redevelopment Agency Meetings Approvals and Decisions

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (August 10, 2022) – Below is a summary of some of the approvals and decisions made by the City Commission and Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) on Monday, August 8, 2022.

CITY ATTORNEY – Approved assessment of city liens for $24,873 for unpaid water/sewer services and stormwater charges from May 2022.

DEVELOPMENT SERVICES – Approved a resolution for the transfer of developmental rights under the historic property incentive to WPB Fern Holdings for the development at 464 and 418 Fern Street and 401 South Dixie Highway; held a public hearing and approved on first reading a major Planned Unit Development (PUD) amendment to Phillips Point Planned Development; held a public hearing and approved on first reading an amendment to the PUD for the Esperante Planned Development; held a public hearing and approved on first reading a text amendment to City Code Chapter 94 Zoning and Land Development Regulations to correct numbering and formatting errors; held a public hearing and approved on first reading for a text amendment to City Code Chapter 94 to amend threshold requirements between major and minor amendment for Development of Significant Impact (DSI) and Planned Developments (PD); held a public hearing and approved on first reading of an ordinance to designate the former Hatch’s Department Store and related sites at 301 Clematis Street, 300 Banyan Boulevard and 161 North Olive Avenue on the Palm Beach Register of Historic Places; approved a resolution to abandon the 27th Street right-of-way located west of Electronics Way between 25th Street and Technology Place.

FIRE – Approved an interlocal agreement with Palm Beach County for hazardous materials emergency response services; approved grant submittal to the Florida Department of Financial Services for a Firefighter Cancer Decontamination Grant.

HOUSING and COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT – Held a public hearing and approved acceptance of federal grants for $4.741 million, and authorized submission of the One-Year-Action Plan for FY 2022-2023.

PARKS and RECREATION – Approved a resolution granting Face of the City approval for the design of the Gaines Park Tennis Courts and Tennis Center.

POLICE – Approved a resolution allocating $152,000 from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund for the purchase of new forensic software.

UTILITIES – Approved a resolution to appropriate $3.795 million from the FY 2022 budget for the purchase of water, wastewater and storm water vehicles and equipment.

COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY MEETING

Below are the actions taken by the CRA.

Approved a resolution to lease the property at 610 23rd Street, Unit A under the City’s Artist in Residence program; approved a resolution for a six-month extension to Immocorp Ventures to obtain site approval for the Northwood Commons Project at the anchor site; approved a resolution for the first amendment to the “Tent Site” Ground Lease Cohen Brothers Realty Corporation of Florida LLC.
