WEST PALM BEACH, FLA (July 21, 2021) – The City of West Palm Beach Department of Parks and Recreation has been awarded the ‘Better Sports for Kids Quality Program Provider’ designation by the National Alliance for Youth Sports. This award recognizes the city’s efforts to ensure a safe, quality athletic environment for children. To earn this accolade, the city met key requirements in five categories: accountability, coach training, parent education, volunteer screening, and written policies and procedures.
“Congratulations to our parks and recreation department for this latest recognition for the high-quality athletic programs they provide to West Palm Beach families,” said Mayor Keith A. James. “We recognize that parents have many choices when it comes to youth sports, and the Better Sports for Kids Quality Program Provider designation helps set us apart from the rest. Parents can feel comfortable knowing their child is in the best place possible to learn and compete in sports.”
