WEST PALM BEACH, FLA (April 29, 2021) – Vegetation Amnesty Days will be held May 3 - 14, 2021 in the City of West Palm Beach. Residents are encouraged to participate!
During this time, residents may place an unlimited about of vegetative waste curbside for pickup at no additional cost. The City is waiving the normal service charge during this period.
The City of West Palm Beach Department of Public Works will pick up the vegetative waste during residents’ regularly scheduled yard waste pickup days. Vegetation includes grass clippings, leaves, tree and shrubbery cuttings or trimmings, broken or cut tree limbs and logs and other vegetation incidental to the care of lawns and gardens.
The result is a comprehensive, citywide cleanup effort in preparation for hurricane season. In addition to readying our city for hurricane season, proper removal of landscape debris helps keep our storm drains clear and minimize flooding associated with summer rains.
To take advantage of Vegetation Amnesty Days, please follow the city’s guidelines for yard/bulk waste disposal:
- Place waste at curbside no earlier than 6:00 p.m. on the night before your regular yard waste pickup day.
- Contain waste to only one pile.
- Place grass cuttings, small trimmings and leaves in plastic bags.
- Cut tree limbs and branches into lengths no longer than 4 ft.
- Cut tree trunks and stumps into sections no longer than 4 ft. and no larger than 12 in. in diameter.
- Do not mix yard waste with any other type of debris.
Vegetation Amnesty Days does not apply to commercial properties or landscape contractors.
