City of West Palm Beach Reminds Residents of Daylight Saving Time
Replace Smoke and CO2 Detector Batteries reminder

WEST PALM BEACH, FL — WEST PALM BEACH, FL — As Daylight Saving Time approaches, the City of West Palm Beach urges residents to spring forward on Sunday, March 10, at 2 a.m. While adjusting your clocks, take a moment to focus on an essential aspect of home safety – regularly changing the batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

"Daylight Saving Time not only marks a shift in our clocks but also serves as a timely reminder to prioritize safety in our homes," said Mayor Keith A. James. "We encourage all residents to take a few moments to check their smoke and CO2 detectors, ensuring they are in proper working order. It's a simple yet vital step towards protecting our families and communities."

Smoke and CO2 detectors play a critical role in early detection and warning of potential fire or gas-related hazards. Regular maintenance and battery replacement are essential to ensure these devices operate effectively in the event of an emergency.

The City of West Palm Beach emphasizes the importance of fire safety and urges residents to take proactive steps in safeguarding their homes and loved ones. By incorporating the simple task of checking smoke and CO2 detectors into your Daylight Saving routine, you contribute to a safer community for all.

Remember, Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday, March 10 at 2 a.m. Let's spring forward responsibly and prioritize fire safety in our homes.
