Office of Sustainability hours remain the same (8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday). In order for us to best assist you, please give us a call (561-804-4994) or send an email (Sustainability@wpb.org) before coming into the office.

The City of West Palm Beach has been committed to sustainability targeting climate change for over a decade. We were one of the first cities in the State of Florida to have a dedicated office addressing climate change, sustainability and resiliency issues. The Office of Sustainability collaborates with various city agencies, nonprofit organizations, businesses and private citizens, among other partners, to enhance the viability of the municipality as a model of healthy, equitable, environmentally progressive, resilient and ecologically sustainable, urban living. We are committed to continue to evolve to meet our City’s / region’s environmental challenges focused on exceeding our community’s expectations.

Upcycling for the Holidays

- Introduction: Join us via Zoom!
Join the City of West Palm Beach Office of Sustainability and Resource Depot on December 4, 2020, 12pm-1pm for an upcycled (virtual) holiday gift making workshop. We will be making a Upcycled Wine Cork Board or Upcycled Wine Cork Jewelry Holder, you can choose which direction you take the activity based on who the gift is for. Register today and don’t miss out on the fun. This is a great project to reuse old picture frames and wine corks!

First 20 who register will receive a FREE kit from Resource Depot to be picked up prior to the program. Additional information will be emailed to you.
If you are not one of the first 20 to register (we will email you to let you know), you can collect your own materials from the list below (check Resource Depot - they usually have most or all of these items in stock).
Materials list:
One picture frame with glass removed (INCLUDED IN KIT)
Wine corks 10-60 (INCLUDED IN KIT)
Two Hooks (INCLUDED IN KIT)
Box cutter
Self-healing cutting mat OR cardboard to cut on (protect your table top!)
Spray paint OR acrylic paint
Hot glue gun OR super glue
Preferred hanging hard ware (if frame does not already have it on the back)
Duct or masking tape
Recommended to pre-paint your frame and backing to save time during the workshop.
