Local Food Assistance Options for West Palm Beach Residents

WEST PALM BEACH, FLA (June 11, 2020) – The City of West Palm Beach reminds residents of the many food assistance programs available throughout their community. Please remember to follow social distancing guidelines when attending these events.

Community Health Center of West Palm Beach: Food drive and free COVID-19 testing (2100 45th Street)

  • Saturday, June 13th, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Ongoing Events

Feeding South Florida: Food Distribution at Palm Beach Outlets (1751 Palm Beach Lakes Blvd.)

  • Mondays, 9:00 a.m. – 11 a.m. (Event will be held through Monday, August 3rd, 2020)

Hospitality Helping Hands: Grocery Pickup: Port of Palm Beach (300 Broadway Avenue Riviera Beach, FL)

  • Fridays, 3:00 p.m. Line starts at 9am to receive vouchers, event will end once the 2,000th voucher is received.

Meals on Wheels of the Palm Beaches, a non-profit organization that delivers meals to homebound seniors, is offering a short-term emergency food delivery option. This service, available for homebound seniors 70 years or older, provides frozen dinners every Tuesday. For more information, please call Debbie Emerick at (561) 802-6979.

Palm Beach County School District is providing two days’ worth of ‘grab and go meals’ on a daily basis for students 18 years and younger (22 years and younger in the case of ESE students) regardless of financial need even during the summer months. These events will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 from 9am-12pm at various sites throughout the County. Palm Beach County Summer Food Service Program will transition from the pre-summer feeding schedule to the expanded summer schedule. Beginning Monday, June 1, 2020, 43 sites throughout the County will distribute meals to eligible children aged 18 and younger. Meals and snacks will also be available to persons older than 18 with disabilities who participate in school programs for mentally or physically disabled individuals. Parents picking up kits without their child present must bring identification for the child. Acceptable documents include student ID, child’s passport or other government-issued ID, birth certificate, adoption decree or immunization records. Meal kits will NOT be provided to parents who do not bring their child or do not provide proper identification. St. Ann Catholic Church (310 N Olive Ave.) invites West Palm Beach residents to its food pantry every Thursday and Friday between 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. For more information, call (561) 832-3757

The Lord’s Place (2808 N Australian Ave.) is offering ‘grab and go meals’ Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

True Fast Outreach Ministries (638 6th St.) is also providing meal and grocery pickup on the following schedule:

  • Thursdays, 1:00 p.m. – 3 p.m. (registration required, call 561-594-5689 between 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.)
  • Saturdays, hot meal distribution starting at 12:00 p.m.

Food Stamps Application Assistance

The City’s Housing and Community Development department will help residents with their Food Stamps application. Required documentation includes:

  • Proof of identification and West Palm Beach residence
  • Proof of immigration status (if not a U.S. citizen)
  • Income verification
  • Unemployment information
  • Dependent/childcare information

To schedule an appointment, residents can call (561) 822-1274 (TTY: 800-955-8771) and leave a voicemail with their name and contact information. Calls with be returned within 48 hours.
