West Palm Beach City Commission Meeting and Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Approvals and Decisions

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (DATE) – Below is a summary of the approvals and decisions made by the City Commission meeting on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.

MAYOR’S OFFICE – Presented a proclamation proclaiming the week of June 3-7, 2024, as Code Enforcement Officers Appreciation Week.

MAYOR’S OFFICE -- Approved an ordinance after a second public hearing modifying the annual salaries for the Mayor and City Commission. The last time the salaries were increased was in 2016.

DEVELOPMENT SERVICES – Approved an ordinance after first public hearing to address a text amendment to the Zoning and Land Development Regulations to allow golf carts in the transition sub-district of the Northwood Mixed-Use District (NMUD).

ENGINEERING – Approved a resolution authorizing the Mayor to sign a release of Unity of Title for 913 Sunset Road.

FIRE DEPARTMENT – Approved a resolution approving a sixth amendment to the Inter-local Agreement for fire vehicle maintenance between the City of West Palm Beach and Palm Beach County

HOUSING and COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT – Approved a resolution approving a lease agreement with Esperanza Community Center to lease City-owned property located at 723 39th Street.

POLICE DEPARTMENT – Approved two resolutions to accept and appropriate a $140,673 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice COPS Office to fund officer recruitment, retention, and workforce diversification to re-establish and fund a Police Explorer program.
