Celebrate Independence Day on the Waterfront!

One of South Florida's largest Independence Day celebrations will once again be held along the downtown Waterfront on Monday, July 4 from 6 - 10 p.m. 4th on Flagler activities include live entertainment, a Military Honor salute, refreshments and an 18-minute firework show. Join us for this beloved annual celebration!

 

Public Input Sought: FY '23 Proposed Budget Meetings on June 22

The City invites members of the public to participate in its fiscal year 2023 budget development process by sharing your programs and service priorities. Participants can attend either in-person or virtually

 

Hero Employees Honored with STAR Award after Lifesaving Rescue

Mayor James recently awarded the City’s Staff Appreciation and Recognition Award to six Department of Public Utilities employees for saving a resident attempting to take his own life. The team was originally called to service a water main near Australian Avenue and Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard, but soon heard cries for help from a nearby residence.

Mandel Public Library Named One of the Most Beautiful U.S. Libraries

The library was recognized as one of the 11 most beautiful libraries in the country by Fodor’s Travel. The organization noted the library’s prime location in a vibrant community near the Intracoastal Waterway, the structure’s tropical feel, city skyline views, and wide range of programming.

 

District 4 Mayoral Town Hall

You're invited to Mayor James' town hall on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 6 p.m. at Keiser University, 2085 Vista Parkway. Mayor will provide city and neighborhood updates and share his Community of Opportunity for All vision. Residents and business owners are invited to attend.

'Closing the Gap' on Black Homeownership

The City has teamed up with the Florida Housing Coalition as part of its "Closing the Gap" program. This campaign focuses on decreasing the racial gap in homeownership by revealing historical patterns of discrimination that led to this.

 

Help Design Your Playground at George Petty Park

Renovations to the park will be financed by funds from the voter-approved 2020 Parks Bond. Community members are encouraged to provide their input on the proposed designs before entering the final selection phase.

You're Invited: HCD Fiscal Year '22 Action Plan Community Meeting on 6/23

The Housing and Community Development Department invites the public and organizations serving low- and moderate-income communities, as well as special needs populations, to provide input on how federal funds should be allocated to maximize aid to target audiences. 

 

Farm Share Food Drive-Thru Event on June 25

Presented by State Rep. Jervonte Edmonds and co-hosted by Mayor James, this event was created to assist residents facing food insecurity. Community members are invited to stop by for healthy, nutritious food items.

Tree Giveaway on June 25

The free tree giveaway originally scheduled for June 4 will now be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Gaines Park from 10 - 11:30 a.m. Residents and business owners may receive up to two trees, a variety of which are available. Applications are required.

 

CRA to Host BBQ, Brews & Blues on July 2

The CRA will kick off Independence Day weekend with the return of this exciting community event in the city's Historic Northwest District. In addition to delicious food and a BBQ competition, guests will enjoy performances by blues sensation Joey Gilmore and the dynamic Ike and Val Woods band.
