City of West Palm Beach Community Events Division Earns 20 Awards from Florida Festivals & Events Association 

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (September 7, 2021) -- The City of West Palm Beach Community Events Division was recently honored with 20 of The Florida Festivals & Events Association’s (FFEA) SUNsational Awards. The department earned the accolades for Holiday in Paradise, the West Palm Beach GreenMarket, 4th on Flagler, Show on the Go, Clematis by Light, and Revamp Fun in ’21. FFEA’s SUNsational Awards recognizes the best campaigns, collateral, promotional items, and much more from its members.

Nominations were accepted in ten categories, including printed materials, outdoor advertisement, PR/media campaign, photography, promotional items and more. Additionally, each category included three budget levels. A total of 170 events submitted their materials for consideration, and nominations were judged by a blue-ribbon panel representing the various stages of event planning.

Clematis by Light

  • 1st place: banners; photo

Revamp Fun in ’21

  • 1st place: radio program, ad or PSA
  • 2nd place: banners

“Congratulations to our Community Events Division for their impressive ability to deliver world-class entertainment despite any obstacles that may appear along the way,” said Keith A. James, West Palm Beach Mayor. “These recognitions reaffirm what we already know to be true: that our signature events and programming are at an elite level, further solidifying West Palm Beach as a ‘must see’ for tourists and locals alike.”

“This year’s awards mean so much more given the innovative thinking our department had to employ in light of the ongoing pandemic,” said Mary Pinak, community events manager for the City of West Palm Beach Department of Parks and Recreation. “Through adaptation and creativity, we were able to engage our community in safe and meaningful programming at a time when they needed it most.”

Celebrating 27 years, FFEA is a not-for-profit association dedicated to supporting and promoting more than 5,500 festivals, events, and fairs in the state of Florida through education, networking and dissemination of information and the cultivation of high standards.
