WEST PALM BEACH, FLA (February 7, 2021) -- After consultation with the Florida Department of Health and after two days of sampling, the City of West Palm Beach has rescinded the precautionary boil water advisory for the City of West Palm Beach (citywide), Town of Palm Beach, and Town of South Palm Beach. These customers should run their water for 5-10 minutes before resuming normal use. However, close to 100 water customers in the City of West Palm Beach remain under a Precautionary Boil Water Advisory.

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES: As a precaution to avoid the possibility of using contaminated water, customers at these specific addresses should not use tap water for the following until you receive a “rescission” notice:
- Drinking water for you or your pets
- Brushing teeth
- Cooking
- Making ice
- Washing dishes
The water is safe to use for bathing, showering, and washing clothes.
ALTERNATIVE WATER SOURCES: Alternative sources of water are:
- Bottled water
- Boiled water, using a rolling boil, for one (1) minute
- Add eight (8) drops of unscented household bleach, per one (1) gallon of water; and allow water to stand for one (1) hour.
The city will notify the affected customers when the rescission notice is issued through various communication methods including, but not limited to, its website wpb.org, media, social media, and Insider Newsletter. Upon receipt of a rescission notice, run your water for 5-10 minutes before resuming normal use.
