West Palm Beach Events

The City of West Palm Beach Community Events Division produces over 600 unique, original, award-winning family-friendly events each year, most of which are free. Our beautiful city provides a spectacular backdrop year-round to entertain and delight people of all ages, and from all walks of life.

Festivals and events have a place of honor in West Palm Beach as essential tools for creating the city's urban character.  As one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S., West Palm Beach has retained the sense of a smaller, more connected community due in large part to its events.

A vibrant hub of culture, business, and fun, see why West Palm Beach has been designated as a World Festival & Event City by the International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA).

Bill "Sauce Boss" Wharton has brought his swamp-funk, slide guitar-one-man band, and a pot of gumbo all across the US and to Canada, Europe, and Asia. Sauce Boss cooks gumbo while performing; serving up bowls to the audience at the end of the shows.  He has served well over 200,000 people for free at his legendary live shows.  Sauce Boss is the guy Jimmy Buffett sings about in "I Will Play for Gumbo". Wharton’s blues anthem, "Let the Big Dog Eat", has been covered by many, including Albert Castiglia. His version was #1 on the Roots Music Report for twelve weeks. The tune was also in Jonathan Demme's movie "Something Wild". Now, Bill’s music will be featured throughout the soundtrack in the documentary, “Jimmy Carter - Rock and Roll President”, debuting early in 2020.

Patrons should follow all CDC guidelines. Food service and concessions will be available on site and attendees may bring blankets and chairs.
