West Palm Beach City Commission Meeting and Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Approvals and Decisions
WEST PALM BEACH, FL (July 9, 2024) – Below is a summary of the approvals and decisions made by the City Commission meeting on Monday, July 8, 2024.
MAYOR’S OFFICE – Mayor Keith A. James proclaimed July 2024 as Parks and Recreation Month in the City of West Palm Beach.

Approved two resolutions approving approves, as “Face of the City”, a temporary, five-piece video installation titled "Entropydoscopes" by South Florida-based artist Sandra Ramos to be installed and exhibited in the Urban Living Room / Mandel Public Library for three months; and a second resolution appropriating $25,000 from the Art in Public Places (AIPP) Reserves for future projects for the installation of a public exhibition of "Entropydoscopes."
CITY ATTORNEY – Approved a resolution approving a Mediated Settlement Agreement totaling $80,000 in the matter of Amanda Vasquez vs. The City of West Palm Beach.
COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY – Approved a resolution consenting to a second amendment to the declaration of covenants, restrictions, and easements governing the development of the old City Hall site/Helen Wilkes site to allow the open space adjacent to 185 N. Banyan to be used as an ice rink open to the public.
DEVELOPMENT SERVICES – Approved a resolution accepting maintenance responsibility for landscape and hardscape improvements to be constructed on a portion of Broadway Avenue between 24th and 25th Street as part of The District mixed-use project, approving a Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement (MMOA) with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and approving a Right of Way (ROW) maintenance agreement with Immocorp Ventures; approved an ordinance after first public hearing amending the City Code, Chapter 94, Zoning and Land Development Regulations, providing an application process and incentives for qualifying affordable and workforce housing projects.
HOUSING and COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT – Approved a resolution approving Amendment No. 3 to the Tamarind Parcel Lease with Transit Village PPP-Seaboard, LLC, for the Seaboard Train Station.

Below is a summary of the approvals and decisions made by the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) meeting on Monday, July 8, 2024.
Approved an amendment to the incentive agreement with Transit Village LLC., granting a one-year extension to complete the project.
Approved a resolution granting approval to allow the open space under a ground lease with Navarro Lowery Waterfront, LLC., adjacent to 185 North Banyan Boulevard to be used during next winter by The Ben hotel as an ice rink open to the public.
Approved a resolution authorizing the negotiation of a Conveyance and Development Agreement for rehabilitation of six (6) historic-frame buildings with Neighborhood Renaissance, Inc.
Heard budget presentations by the CRA staff for the proposed Fiscal Year 2025 Downtown City Center CRA and Northwood/Pleasant City CRA budgets.
